The British royal family seems to have gone into full panic mode after it was revealed that Meghan Markle’s court case “will not end well for anyone,” as it’s been reported that Kensington Palace has “found it hard to deny stories that were true.”

The U.K. Mirror reported that these allegations came to light as Meghan continues her lawsuit over a “private and confidential” letter that she sent to her father Thomas which was later published by the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline.

New court documents that were filed by Meghan’s lawyers this week stated that she felt “unprotected by the Institution, and prohibited from defending herself.”

A source has since told the Times that Meghan’s anger is focused on the palace machinery, rather than on specific members of the royal family.

“The Royal Family will be absolutely dismayed at the assertion she was unprotected by the institution which is a bold claim,” the source said. “No one thinks this is going to end well…for anyone.”

The insider went on to explain that Meghan felt unprotected by the “institution” because she could not do anything about the stream of negative stories that were coming out about her relationship with staffers.

The source said that the situation was made all the more difficult because “the communications team found it hard to deny the reports because they were largely true.”

“The stories were a drop in the ocean compared to what was going on,” another insider said.

“It was mandated by the KP Communications Team that all friends and family of the Claimant [Meghan] should say ‘no comment’ when approached by any media outlet, despite misinformation being provided to UK tabloids about the Claimant,” Meghan’s legal team stated.

“This shared frustration amongst the Claimant’s friends left everyone feeling silenced, as it appeared that other so-called sources were able to disseminate false statements about the Claimant, while the people who knew her best were told that they needed to remain silent.”

In her lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, Meghan is claiming that her father’s decision to make the letter public breached her privacy, copyright and data protection rights.

She is seeking damages that she has pledged to donate to an anti-bullying charity.
