Daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has been going through a rough time over the past few weeks as dozens of current and former employees of her program have come forward to accuse her of turning a blind eye to racism, intimidation, and sexual misconduct that was happening behind the scenes on her set. The silence from DeGeneres’ long list of A-list celebrity friends has been deafening in the wake of these allegations coming to light, as virtually nobody famous has spoken out to defend the once-beloved host.

Now, however, comedian Kevin Hart is putting himself out there to rush to DeGeneres’ defense.

“It’s crazy to see my friend go through what she’s going through publicly,” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. “I’ve known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f–king planet. She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day one. The Internet has become a crazy world of negativity we are falling in love with people downfall. It’s honestly sad. When did we get here? I stand by the ones that I know and that I love. Looking forward to the future when we get back to loving one another this hate s–t has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon.”

“This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and experiences,” Hart added. “It’s simply to show what my experience have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen.”

This comes after Hollywood star Diane Keaton took to Instagram to defend DeGeneres as well.

“I ALWAYS ENJOYED MY VISITS TO THE ELLEN SHOW. I’VE SEEN HOW THE AUDIENCE EXUDES HAPPINESS AND GRATITUDE. SHE GIVES BACK TO SO MANY INCLUDING ME,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself with the talk show host.

It has been reported over the past few days that DeGeneres has “had enough” of all the backlash, and that she wants to quit her show.

“She feels she can’t go on and the only way to recover her personal brand from this is to shut down the show,” an insider at Telepictures told Daily Mail. “The truth is she knew what was going on, it’s her show. The buck stops with her. She can blame every executive under the sun – but Ellen is ultimately the one to blame.”
