The Trump administration has had enough of New York City, Portland, and Seattle. These are cities that beg for federal funds but have done little to protect their own citizens from riots. In fact, there have been instances when police stood by and let rioters run amok. Also, officials in all three named cities have actively supported the rioters and encouraged them to loot, vandalize, and set fires. On Monday AG Barr said enough was enough and took action by putting New York, Seattle, and Portland on notice.

Conservatives agree.

BREAKING: The Department of Justice has just labeled New York City, Portland And Seattle as ‘Anarchist Jurisdictions.’

They are.

These cities have stood by and permitted violence and destruction of property.

The Wall Street Journal reports, “We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance,’ Attorney General William Barr said in a statement. He said he hoped the three cities would ‘reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.’ Mr. Barr has made a priority of prosecuting crimes connected to violence during or after the protests, including encouraging federal prosecutors to consider charging certain demonstrators with sedition using a rarely used statute that would require them to prove there was an imminent danger arising from a conspiracy to attack government agents or officials. Federal prosecutors have charged more than 200 people with violent crimes related to the protests. Most face counts of arson, assaulting federal officers or gun offenses.” Barr has said more than once that these riots are part of a coordinated operation by hard left groups including Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler called the completely justified move, “thoroughly political and unconstitutional. The president is playing cheap political games with congressionally directed funds.”

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said: “Trump, the Department of Justice and Barr’s obsession with Seattle and me is irrational and most importantly a huge distraction.” Gee, why should the federal government care about a major city illegally run by anarchists and communists?

What is scaring these Democrats to death is that law and order is becoming the major issue in the presidential campaign and they know they are on the wrong side of the question. They thought their extortion attempt on American cities would work and the people and the administration would be intimidated into supporting their policies and candidates. But they didn’t count on the backlash they are now experiencing, as poll after poll show Trump’s law and order message playing with voters across the political spectrum.

As such, the Democrats could launch a new series of riots and civil unrest in October in another attempt to cower Trump and the American people into submission. But, like Londoners during the Blitz of WWII, this country can take all the Democrats have to dish out and throw it right back in their faces on Election Day.
