Kelly Ripa’s Husband Mark Consuelos Praises Her – Says ‘Her Brain Is So Sexy’

Mark Consuelos has been married to talk show host Kelly Ripa since 1996, but he made it clear in a new interview that he is just as in love with her as ever.

Consuelos appeared on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy special “Quarantined with Bruce” to discuss how he and Ripa sold the show “Mexican Gothic,” based on the book of the same title, to Hulu thanks to his wife’s “sexy” brain.

“I’m married to one of the most voracious readers that you could ever meet,” Consuelos said. “She reads and reads and reads and reads. And I like, I’m so attracted to my wife and, and not on a physical level, but her brain is so sexy.”

He added that it was Ripa who first became invested in the book, discovered the rights were available, and fought to win the title in a “huge bidding war with some pretty big companies.”

Consuelos also said that being in quarantine amidst the coronavirus pandemic has strengthened his bond with his and Ripa’s three children: Michael, 23, Lola, 19, and Joaquin, 17.

“You kind of assess where you are with your relationship when you have to spend this much time together. And, and… we really like each other, which is great,” the “All My Children” actor explained. “I think families got to slow down just a little bit, especially in our world where we’re traveling so much different countries, you know, different schedules. It was nice. It was really, really nice just to get that time together.”

Consuelos and Ripa have been quarantining in the Caribbean. They have been stuck their since March, as they were vacationing there when the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns started.

“We had planned a trip for our family, and it was supposed to be our entire family of course,” Ripa said back in May, according to Fox News [1]. “And we arrive and three days later, the entire world changed, really. I mean, everything shut down; the government shut down; our country shut down. I hate to use the word stuck, but we were. We decided to stay where we were.”

Ripa is still mourning the death of her former cohost Regis Philbin, who died back in July at the age of 88.

“As people get older, you always know that certain things are inevitable, and passing away is one of those things, but Regis is one of the people that we all believed, I think, would somehow figure out a way around the inevitable,” a visibly emotional Ripa said just after his death. “It was not in the cards.”
