Los Angeles Tried (Unsuccessfully) to Ban Halloween. Is Christmas Next?

Los Angeles actually got push back concerning their original plans to cancel Halloween but the holiday is back on now.

As if they have ANY authority to cancel a holiday.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health was going to ban trick-or-treating but is now just recommending that it doesn’t happen in their revised guidelines [1].

Even though trick-or-treating isn’t currently banned anymore, there are some things that are still NOT permitted including Halloween gatherings, events or parties with non-household members even if outdoors – and also carnivals, festivals, live entertainment and indoor haunted house attractions.

Or what? That’s my question. Gonna send the police out to arrest people?

The political party of four months of riots and protesting in the streets is trying to pretend that they have a problem with kids not social distancing while going door to door on Halloween.

Perhaps if the little kiddies have Black Lives Matter pillowcases or are dressed up in riot gear, their presence in the city would be acceptable to the democrats.

Business owners and parents must have really gotten into their crap in order for the democrats to do an about-face so quickly.

This change is a lucky move for children all over the country because if Los Angeles would have gotten away with this, I’m sure other democratic run cities would have followed suit.

The fact that these health department tyrants thought they could get away with cancelling a holiday truly shows the communist powers that they think they have because of the pandemic. They think they can mandate anything they want and that they are untouchable.

Most kids are already wearing masks on Halloween so that takes care of doing the main thing that the democrats say is going to save us all from the virus. That, along with doing a PSA to wear gloves or mittens when grabbing candy, would have been a sufficient announcement for the city to make instead of going all dictator on everyone.

Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, professor of medicine and public health at the University of California said that not letting kids trick-or-treat was an overreaction. He said, “There’s very little evidence showing that controlling infection in children has any benefit to controlling epidemic overall.”

Will the oppressive democratic governors like Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer feel the same or will she try to ban Halloween too? Maybe she won’t cross that bridge with the election so close to Halloween but you never know. She has “science” to follow, after all and she keeps telling us that we are still under a “state of emergency.”

With their totalitarian powers not in check, I’m sure we will get guidelines from the democrats about how we should spend our Thanksgiving and Christmas as well and that we shouldn’t be traveling and visiting our family or going to church over the Christmas holiday.

I wonder how many of these guidelines the democrats will try to turn into edicts.
