Vanessa Bryant Is Accused Of Kicking Out Her Own Mother After Kobe Died

The mother of Vanessa Bryant is speaking out this week to claim that her daughter kicked her out in the wake of the death of her husband, the legendary NBA star Kobe Bryant, who passed away in a helicopter crash back in January along with his and Vanessa’s 13 year-old daughter as well as seven others.

Sofia Laine can be seen wiping away tears in a preview video for her interview with Univision reporter Dave Valadez. While speaking in Spanish, Laine claimed that Vanessa had forced her out of her home after her husband’s death, and had demanded she give back the car she used.

“She told me, ‘I need you to get out of this house.’ She also told me that she wanted her car and she wants it now,” Laine said, according to Page Six [1].

One month after Bryant’s death, a source had described Vanessa’s mother as her “rock,” so it’s unclear what led to this falling out in the months since then.

“[Vanessa] is incredibly close to her mom and her mom has been her rock throughout the past few weeks,” a source told US Weekly [2] at the time. “Her mom is always with her and the girls [Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months] and she’s been keeping Vanessa strong and she’s the weight of her support system.”

Earlier this year, Vanessa took to Instagram to pen an emotional post mourning her husband and daughter.

“My husband worked his a** off for 20 years. Gave it his all,” Vanessa wrote [3]. “All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time. He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girls lives.”

Vanessa, went on to lament that “life truly isn’t fair.”

“He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement,” she continued. “We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy. I wish I could [go] back to that morning, every day. I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.”
