After Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s disastrous showing at Tuesday night’s debate, former First Lady Michelle Obama is stepping in to try and rescue him by telling supporters to ignore how chaotic the debate got. She also told them to resist the urge to “tune out,” arguing that Democratic apathy allows President Donald Trump to win.

“If you were turned off by the President’s behavior last night, I feel you. Believe me, I do. But we can’t let him win by tuning out altogether. That’s what he wants,” Michelle wrote in an Instagram post. “So turn those feelings into action—turn them into votes for my friend, @JoeBiden. It’s the only way we can get out of this chaos and restore some stability to this country.”

She went on to issue a call to arms to her followers urging them to register people to vote.

“You can start by reaching out to everyone you know,” Michelle wrote. “Make sure they’re registered. Make sure they know how and when they’re going to vote. And then follow up with them, every day, to make sure they cast their ballot. Because in this election, we’ve got to vote for Joe in numbers that cannot be denied.”

Michelle and her husband, former President Barack Obama, have been working overtime in the past few weeks trying to help Biden in the hopes that he’ll beat Trump in the election. Michelle has been focusing on a  “get out the vote” effort, which she’s teamed up with various Hollywood celebrities on. Meanwhile, Barack has been fundraising quietly for his former Vice President, participating in Zoom calls with high-dollar Democratic donors instead of appearing at major fundraising events, according to Daily Wire.

Yesterday, we reported that Barack was telling the public that Trump is trying to make it harder for them to vote.

“This administration has shown it will tear our democracy down if that’s what it takes to win,” Barack said before accusing Trump of having “shown no interest in putting in the work, no interest in finding common ground, no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends.”

“They know they can’t win you over with their policies,” he added, referring to Trump and his allies. “So they’re hoping to make it as hard as possible for you to vote, and to convince you that your vote doesn’t matter.”
