For years now, the woke culture has set its sights on mainstream society and how it affects other people. One of the strongest debates on the topic was the right to offend. There are those in the woke culture that believes nobody should be offended, and if you were to offend someone – then you could face criminal consequences. Luckily for America and the rest of the world, judges in the U.K. ruled on a case and found that freedom of speech includes – the right to offend.
The judges presiding over the case were Lord Justice Bean and Mr. Justice Warby, who waited until the end to give their opinions. They said, “Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having. Free speech encompasses the right to offend, and indeed to abuse another.”
The case first made headlines when in 2018, a Miss Scottow was arrested and taken from her children after she referred to a trans woman as a man, a racist, and a pig in a wig. Believing she was free to sway those remarks, Scottow was dumbfounded when the police showed up to arrest her.
After the ruling, Scottow was thankful to the judges and said, ‘It was necessary to enshrine one of the most fundamental rights of every living being in a democratic society – the right to freedom of speech that is now routinely attacked.” And rightfully so, the Democratic party paired with the PC culture and reached its arm across the oceans and is now attacking the rights of people outside of the United States.
As for the person who first tipped the police to Scottow’s remarks, she(?) was not thrilled with the ruling and even said, “This is… a kick in the teeth to the entire LGBT community.” Sorry, but being offended by the remarks that someone posted online doesn’t give you the right to attack them and ruin their entire life.
While it can be easy to get offended by the words someone says online, it is that fundamental right that gives all people freedom of choice. If you take that away, not just Americans – but all people would lose what makes humans – human.
