Larry King Rushed To Hospital After Testing Positive For COVID

Fans of the legendary talk show host Larry King are praying for him right now after the 87 year-old tested positive for COVID-19.

Entertainment Tonight [1] reported that King has been battling the virus for ten days. During that time, his wife Shawn King, 61, and their two sons Chance and Cannon have not been allowed to see him. This comes after it was reported that King had spent his 87th birthday back in November in the hospital with a blood-flow issue.

2020 was an especially difficult year for King, as he lost two of his children. His oldest son Andy King died unexpectedly back in July of a heart attack at the age of 65. Weeks later, King’s daughter Chaia died of lung cancer at the age of 51.

“John Kennedy said life isn’t fair, which is so true,” King told Closer Weekly [2]. “A lot of life is luck. I have no control over it.”

“Losing them feels so out of order. No parent should have to bury a child,” King explained. “Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed.”

King has also been in the process of divorcing Shawn, who he has been married to for 22 years.

“I thought a lot about what I wanted the rest of my life to be,” King confessed about his decision to end the marriage. “There is nothing worse than arguing … I wanted to be happy.”

Through all of his struggles, King has continued to work, hosting “PoliticKING With Larry King,” a weekly talk show on Hulu.

“He doesn’t want to stop. The biggest challenge for him is listening to the doctors who want him to de-stress by working less and resting more,” an insider said.

King himself said he has no interest in giving up working because it brings him joy.

“I’ve been given the gift of curiosity,” he said. “And I’ve made that curiosity into a professional career.”

Despite all his heartbreaks this year, King said he still sees himself as blessed.

“The truth is that every day of my life, good or bad, I pinch myself,” he confessed. “I lived through so many things, but I keep bouncing back. I have so much to live for.”
