Trump Will Campaign Against Georgia Republican Governor Kemp

President Trump vowed Monday to campaign against Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp in the governor’s likely campaign for reelection in 2022. This is because Kemp has not complied with enough of the president’s requests per the Georgia race in November. Trump knows that could split the party in two and thus make Democrat victories much more possible.

Other populist groups are saying that they will engineer primary challenges for any member of the House or Senate who does not vote against congressional certification of the Electoral College results. This could also result in expensive primary battles for the GOP, resulting in less resources to face the Democrats. But that seems to populists less a problem than hunting for heretics.

FNC: “President Trump took aim at Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp for opposing his challenge to 2020 election results on Monday even as he called on voters to turn out in record numbers to support Republican Senate candidates in the state’s critical runoff election. Trump ripped Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, both Republicans, for their handling of his legal challenge in the state, telling a crowd of supporters that they were ‘terrified’ of prominent Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams. The president signaled that he plans to aid a challenge to Kemp in the state’s next gubernatorial primary. ‘I’ll be here in about a year and a half campaigning against your governor. I guarantee that,’ Trump said. ‘I shouldn’t say this, I shouldn’t say this. I just don’t want you to tell anyone outside of this room, other than the millions of people. You know, I endorsed him. He was in last place and I endorsed him. He went to first place, like, immediately.’ ”

The president has also targeted Vice President Mike Pence for pressure regarding the Wednesday congressional certification of the Electoral College.

“The Vice President has the power to reject fraudulently chosen electors…I hope Mike Pence comes through for us, I have to tell you…I hope that our great vice president – our great vice president, comes through for us. He’s a great guy. Of course, if he doesn’t come through, I won’t like him as much.”
