Woman Rescues Entire Family From Fire In Harrowing Ring Camera Footage

A woman from Avondale, Arizona is being hailed as a hero after she rescued an entire family living next-door to her when their house caught on fire.

The entire rescue was caught on camera in harrowing footage captured by the family’s Ring doorbell camera.

Carolyn Palisch was getting ready to start her day on January 1 when she suddenly noticed smoke coming out of her neighbors’ house. Nicole Salgado was inside the home with her husband David and their four children, all of whom were unaware that their house had caught on fire.

“We were all asleep,” Salgado told KMOV [1].

Without hesitating, Palisch ran over to the house and kept banging on the door until all six members of the family were out.

“All I could think of was the kids,” Palisch said.

“‘YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE! GET OUT,'” the video footage was captioned. “An Avondale family is thankful to be alive after their home went up in flames on New Year’s Day and were saved by their neighbor who saw smoke shooting out from the rooftop and rushed next door to get them out.”

“She made sure we got out of that house,” added Salgado, who went on to add that police said that every minute mattered here.

“The firefighters told us that if it would have been five minutes later then that roof would have came down on us,” she explained.

Palisch is just grateful that she was there to help.

“I’ve been a nurse for 40 years and you hope that you’ve always done good for everyone but to actually see the result and to see them alive and well and their children are here,” she said. “Can’t ask for nothing else.”

From that morning on, Palisch and the Salgados were more than just next-door neighbors.

“She’s family, she’s going to be apart of our lives forever, you know. She saved our life,” said Salgado.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire, but Salgado said firefighters have told her that it is now unlivable.

Thank goodness that Palisch was there to make sure this family got out safely! Please join us in saying a prayer for the Salgados as they head into 2021 without a home.
