Carroll County, GA. – A police pursuit early Monday morning resulted in three officers from multiple agencies being shot, one suspect in custody, and one suspect dead.
Authorities say a Georgia State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle around 3:30AM after seeing it drive 111 MPH on Interstate 2o. The vehicle initially yielded and pulled over, but drove away when the trooper approached the vehicle.
As the Trooper followed the suspects, a passenger in the vehicle began shooting and struck the patrol car, disabling it.

Carrolton Police Officers joined the pursuit and began taking fire from the suspects. One officer was struck, lost control of his vehicle, and hit a utility pole.
Villa Rice Police Officers joined the pursuit and the suspects fired again, striking an officer twice.
During the pursuit, a Deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was also shot in the arm.
One suspect was killed in and another was taken into custody. It is unclear how the suspect was killed.
The names of the suspects have not been released. Authorities identified the three injured officers as Jay Rapetto of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Rob Holloway of the Carrollton Police Department, and Chase Gordy of the Villa Rica Police Department.
All wounded officers were transported to the hospital for their injuries. Their conditions are unknown.
