Pres. Biden Walks Back Support For Israel After Democrats Get Upset

For the past two weeks, and well before that, both Israel and Palestine have been at odds with each other. Their heated relationship came to a head when Israel started to defend itself from Hamas rocket fire, causing injury and death on both sides. While America has always stood behind Israel, the Democrats have recently decided to blame them for the attacks and push for President Biden to turn his back on the country. And showing his own willingness to conform, Biden did exactly as the Democrats wanted.

After Biden showed support for Israel and their right to defend themselves, the President was shocked when his own party members turned against him. The same people who campaigned for Biden’s presidency were now accusing him of supporting genocide and war crimes. At the front of the attack on Biden was none other than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Taking to Twitter as she always does, AOC voiced her support for the Palestinians while spreading false facts about the current situation taking place. She wrote, “We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem. Israeli forces are forcing families from their homes during Ramadan and inflicting violence. It is inhumane and the US must show leadership in safeguarding the human rights of Palestinians.”

Following AOC, several other key Democrats jumped on the wagon and chastised President Biden for his words of support for Israel. Not to mention, the Biden administration recently approved a weapon deal with the country. The blowback from his own party was so much that on Monday the White House released a readout of Biden’s phone call with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu showing him supporting a “ceasefire”.

Fielding a storm of questions, press secretary Jen Psaki struggled to give an exact stance on where Biden stood when it came to the rising conflict. She insisted several times that “Our approach is to quiet, intensive diplomacy, and that’s where we feel we can be most effective.” Simply put, the President will take the same approach he took when addressing the crisis at the Southern border – do nothing!
