House Democrat Turns On Biden Over Afghanistan – ‘F***ing Disaster’

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) officially turned on President Joe Biden this week, admitting that his administration’s handling of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a “f—g disaster” of “epic proportions.”

“The thing that everybody needs to understand, even if you completely agree with the Biden administration’s decision to withdraw, the way they have handled this has been a total f—g disaster,” Moulton said, according to Fox News [1].

He added that the Biden administration “has created a disaster of epic proportions,” which should be investigated by Congress. Not stopping there, Moulton also voiced his frustrations with his own party for not holding Biden and his administration accountable for the current mess in Afghanistan.

While Moulton said that he does not enjoy criticizing Biden, he also said, “If telling the truth is what’s required to save a few lives, then it’s worth all the bad politics in the world.”

The situation in Afghanistan escalated on Thursday when thirteen U.S. service members were killed in bombings at Hamid Karzai International Airport. Despite this, Biden has stood by his administration’s evacuation efforts.

“These American service members who gave their lives — it’s an overused word, but it’s totally appropriate — they were heroes,” Biden said on Thursday. “They were part of an airlift, an evacuation effort unlike any seen in history, with more than 100,000 American citizens, American partners, Afghans who helped us, and others taken to safety in the last 11 days.  Just in the last 12 hours or so, another 7,000 have gotten out.”

Though Biden took responsibility for the bombings on Thursday, he also said that he was working on a difficult timeline when it came to this withdrawal.

“I bear responsibility for, fundamentally, all that’s happened of late,” he said. “But here’s the deal: You know – I wish you’d one day say these things – you know as well as I do that the former president made a deal with the Taliban that he would get all American forces out of Afghanistan by May 1.”

Biden has been widely panned for his handling of the crisis in Afghanistan by both sides of the political aisle. Veterans have also been speaking out against him as of late. Former U.S. Marine Michael Boyd, who served in Afghanistan back in 2012, told Business Insider [2] that Biden needs to take responsibility for the fallout there.

“The commander-in-chief is ultimately always responsible for the tactical situation on the ground,” Boyd said. “The president is always responsible. We’ve been there for 20 years. So if it’s f—ed up in Afghanistan, it’s on us.”

Boyd also shot down Biden’s claim that chaos was inevitable regardless of how the U.S. left Afghanistan.

“That’s BS, man,” Boyd said. “This did not have to be a collapse. What folks don’t understand is how the US military can really almost do anything. Once you saw it falling, you could have stopped it.”

In the end, Boyd feels that the U.S. owes Afghanistan more than just a rescue mission.

“It’s going to be an ongoing humanitarian crisis,” he said. “We were there for 20 years. Why would we think that you just get to walk away? As an American, we have a responsibility to the people until the end.”
