Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) spoke out this week to add to the speculation that former President Donald Trump is planning to run again in 2024.

“I think he’s gonna run,” Jordan said before attending the Dallas County Republican Party’s “Party Like a Patriot” event in Iowa on Thursday, according to Des Moines Register.

“I want him to run,” the congressman added. “He’s proven he can take the heat. We’re at a moment now where you’ve got to have someone who’s willing to fight, willing to stand up to all the abuses.”

“I talked to him yesterday, I’m convinced he’s going to, you know, he’s thinking about this fine governor you have as part of that amazing ticket,” Jordan continued, referring to Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R).

Trump has fueled the fire when it comes to speculation of him running again various times since leaving office, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity back in June that he has already made a decision about running.

“You’re not going to answer, but I have to ask. Where are you in the process — or — let me ask you this, without giving the answer – what the answer is — have you made up your mind?” Hannity asked at the time.

“Yes,” Trump said as the crowd cheered.

Trump has also said that he would “certainly consider” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is another possible 2024 contender, as his running mate.

“I would certainly consider Ron,” Trump told Fox Business host Stuart Varney back in June. “I was at the beginning of Ron, I was the first one to endorse him when he came out as a congressman that a lot of people didn’t know, and my endorsement helped him tremendously, and I know him very well. He’s a great guy.”

“We have other great people,” he said. “I mean, you look at some of … the Republican people that have done a great job with states, and you don’t see that with the Democrats. I mean, they kept their states closed and locked down, and the schools are closed. It’s just absolutely outrageous how they get away with it.”

Last month, Trump teased a possible run during an interview on “The Truth with Lisa Boothe.”

“We won it twice. I’ve won it twice and now I have to win it again,” Trump said in this interview, eluding to his claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him. “I guess if we’re going to save the country, look … I’ll make a decision.”

Given the disaster that Joe Biden’s first few months in office, it’s comforting to think about Trump running again and potentially winning. If Trump ends up becoming president again in 2024, here’s hoping that he can undo all the damage that Biden has done.
