RIVERSIDE, CA – Flags lining a fence in Riverside meant to honor the 13 fallen US Military service members killed by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan last month were vandalized this week.
Sometime over labor day weekend, the flags, which were located on the Ivy Street overpass above the 91 Freeway, were intentionally damaged, according to police. A citizen noticed the damage and called the police to report it.

“Itβs obvious the flags were intentionally damaged,” police said, thanking the citizen for bringing it to their attention.
Two people helped police take down the damaged flags. Boy Scout Troop 703 received them and will be properly retiring them.
There are no suspects at this time.
