Other than blaming former President Donald Trump, the Biden administration won’t fully address the situation at the Southern border. Every few weeks, a fresh wave of illegal immigrants flood the border and without hesitation, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris graciously find themselves busy with other tasks. Just a few weeks ago, drone footage showed close to 16,000 Haitian immigrants camping under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. But while the Biden administration continues to act as if the border crisis doesn’t exist, Panama’s foreign minister warned that up to 60,000 immigrants were currently on their way to the border.

Speaking with Axios, Erika Mouynes expressed how her government has been extremely vocal with the White House about the recent surge of migrants. She even detailed how they informed the Biden administration about the migrant wave that ultimately led to the camp in Del Rio, Texas. But even with Mouynes warning President Biden of the situation, the border was still left unprotected. As of now, Governor Greg Abbott and several other conservatives are the only ones trying to stabilize the situation.  

Mouynes went on to add, “We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this.’ We all have a role to play in this issue, and the regional approach is the correct approach. It is impossible for Panama to solve it on its own.”

While Mouynes met with both the White House and members of Congress this week, Senator Ted Cruz couldn’t help but blame the Biden administration for the crisis her country is seeing. “This is all happening because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris refuse to enforce the law.” Cruz went on to add, “and have essentially said anyone who wants to come to America, they’re gonna resettle them, they’re gonna give them benefits, they’re gonna let ’em stay, and it’s resulting in a public health crisis and a humanitarian crisis.”

Making sure that her message is clear and heard, Mouynes reiterated one important line meeting with officials. “Let’s recognize that they all are heading toward the US.”
