Ivana Trump’s Secret Rehab Stint Revealed After Her Death

It’s been two weeks since Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, died suddenly [1] at the age of 73 after falling down the stairs of her townhouse in Manhattan, New York. Now, it’s been revealed that she had a secret stint in rehab, and she even through a champagne dinner to celebrate when it came to an end!

This was revealed by Guinness heiress Ivana Lowell in an essay called “The Other Ivana,” which was published by Air Mail. [2] In this essay, Lowell wrote that she bonded with Trump in treatment over the fact that they both had the same first name.

“Ivana? You too are called Ivana?” she recalled Trump telling her when they met.

Lowell went on to remember Trump throwing a dinner party a few weeks later on her last day of treatment to celebrate.

“Darlink, tonight is going to be my treat. I am taking us all out to dinner,” Trump told Lowell at the time. “There is a fabulous restaurant right on the water, and the food is divine. I think we all deserve a treat, don’t you?”

Lowell recalled that at this dinner party, Trump treated her new friends from rehab to a variety of small plates and tasty appetizers. A waiter then brought out a bottle of champagne, with Trump telling him to pour a glass for each of her guests.

However, before anyone could be tempted to partake in the alcohol, Lowell told them, “Look, I know how much we have all paid to be in treatment. If you touch that glass of champagne, it will be the most expensive drink you have ever had.”

The Guinness heiress said that because of this, nobody touched their glasses.

When Trump was asked why she was in rehab, she told Lowell, “exhaustion, darlink, pure exhaustion.”

Lowell remembered that during her time in rehab, Trump did not attend group or 12-step meetings, she asked everyone to call her Maria, not Ivana.

“How many times do I have to tell you my name is not Ivana — it is Maria. I am Maria!” Lowell recalled Trump telling staffers.

Lowell concluded by saying that on Trump’s final day in rehab, she gave her a gift.

“Darlink, we are leaving today, but I want to give you something,” Trump told Lowell before giving her a bottle of perfume labeled IVANA. The gift came with a note that read, “With love from one Ivana to another.”

Trump tragically died two weeks ago due to injuries she sustained in a fall at her home in Manhattan. She is survived by the three children she shared with former President Trump: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.

“My mother is my inspiration,” Ivanka told People Magazine [3] back in 2016. “She was the ultimate role model. It was always clear to us that we were her priority, but that doesn’t mean we got her 24 hours a day.”

Trump was married to Donald Trump from 1977 until they divorced in 1992. Though their divorce got bitter at times, they eventually became friends, and she was an outspoken supporter of his when he successfully ran for president in 2016.

Trump was buried in a gold casket at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. May she rest in peace.
