Americans everywhere are in shock after Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald Trump, died suddenly on Thursday at the age of 73. Now, new details have come to light about her untimely passing.
Police sources told The New York Post that Ivana was found dead at the bottom of her stairs at her townhouse on East 64th Street in Manhattan, and she is believed to have suffered cardiac arrest. Officers are now investigating whether Ivana may have fallen down the stairs, and the city’s Medical Examiner’s Office is working to detriment the official cause of death.
Sources said that Ivana’s body was discovered by staffers in her building at 12:40pm, and they immediately called the police. An insider close to the Trump family said that Ivana’s health had been declining over the past few years.

She met Donald Trump in New York City in 1976, and they married the next year, going on to have three children together before they divorced in 1992. Ivana kept his surname after the divorce, and she garnered herself a reputation for enjoying the finer things in life.
“You couldn’t walk down the street without people stopping her. Not everyone loved Donald Trump, everyone loved Ivana Trump,” said her friend and former publicist Todd Shapiro. “She always brought her dog with her, Tiger. Tiger would sit with her at the table wherever she went. Tiger was her partner in crime.”
The former President Trump paid tribute to Ivana hours after her death.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” he said in a statement . “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”
“Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric,” he continued. “She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
A source close to Ivanka said that she is in “shock” over her mother’s death, adding that “they were super close.” Ivanka took to Instagram to say that she is “heartbroken by the passing of my mother.”
“Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate and wickedly funny,” she said. “She modeled strength, tenacity and determination in her every action. She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance.”
Ivanka’s younger brother Eric said in a statement of his own that “our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.”
“She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren,” he added.
In her last years, Ivana split her time between New York, Miami and St-Tropez. Her neighbor, Broadway producer Judith Ann Abrams, remembered Ivana as “impeccable” with never a hair out of place.
“What can I say about her? I think her life would have been easier if she changed her name,” she said. “It’s the end of an era on this block. She was always very nice to us, very friendly … I’ll miss her.”
Rest in peace, Ivana Trump.
