Newt Gingrich Blasts Biden For ‘Hateful’ Speech Shaming Trump Supporters

The former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has spoken out to blast President Joe Biden for the speech he gave in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last week that he used to shame millions of supporters of former President Donald Trump. Gingrich went so far as to say that America is a “mess” going into the midterm elections.

“The point of campaigns is to drive home facts,” Gingrich told Fox News [1]. “It’s a fact that President Biden went to Philadelphia, and gave a hateful speech in a city which has the highest murder rate in its history, a city with the highest armed robbery rate, and the highest car and carjacking rate. 70% of Philadelphians say crime and safety is our biggest issue.”

“The Democratic [Senate] nominee, Fetterman, voted to release 25 murderers from prison,” he continued. “When that sinks in, I think we’ll win the Senate race. The president’s problem is he has no answer on inflation, no answer for the 20 million families who are behind on their electricity bills because prices keep going up.”

“No answer for an open border policy which has led to over 100,000 deaths last year from overdose,” he added. “More than twice as many Americans died last year from a drug overdose as died in the Vietnam War. And Biden has no answer at all.”

Not stopping there, Gingrich went on to say that he firmly believes that a red wave is coming.

“So I think as we get into the fall campaign, Republicans will do very well,” Gingrich concluded. “I think Kevin McCarthy’s plan will lay out a terrific range of positive future actions. And I think, in fact, if the Democrats had all these plans, why didn’t they do them? They didn’t do them. And the country is a mess.”

This comes after Biden shamelessly used his speech last Thursday night to attack “MAGA Republicans.”

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards, backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love,” Biden said, according to NPR [2].

“Not even a majority of Republicans are MAGA Republicans,” he added. “Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology. I know because I’ve been able to work with these mainstream Republicans. But there’s no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country.”

Trump fired back by calling Biden “an enemy of the state,” according to The Hill [3].

“This week, Joe Biden came to Philadelphia, Pa., to give the most vicious, hateful and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president, vilifying 75 million citizens … as threats to democracy and as enemies of the state. He’s an enemy of the state,” Trump said.

Trump then described the recent FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago estate as an example of “the very real threats of American freedom.”

“There could be no more vivid example of the very real threats of American freedom than just a few weeks ago you saw when we witnessed one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history,” Trump said. “The shameful raid and breaking of my home Mar-a-Lago was a travesty of justice.”

Trump has yet to reveal whether or not he plans to run for president again in 2024, but it could be possible that a rematch between him and Biden could be in the cards in the future.
