Radical Leftists Invade Sacred Ground: Enough is Enough

America, wake up. Yesterday, on a peaceful Sunday morning in the heart of the Twin Cities, a mob of radical anti-ICE agitators stormed Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, interrupting a worship service and terrorizing congregants. These self-proclaimed “activists” – let’s call them what they are: far-left extremists – barged into a house of God, shouting accusations and disrupting prayer because one of the pastors allegedly holds a position with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They turned a sanctuary into a battleground, intimidating families, children, and faithful worshipers who simply wanted to praise the Lord.

This wasn’t protest. This was intimidation. This was an assault on religious freedom. And it’s the latest salvo in the American left’s war on Christianity, law and order, and the very foundations of our Republic.

Let me be crystal clear: No one – no matter their political grievances – has the right to invade a church, threaten worshipers, and trample on the First Amendment. The congregants at Cities Church weren’t debating immigration policy. They were singing hymns, hearing Scripture, and seeking spiritual renewal. Yet these thugs decided their cause justified desecrating sacred space. Reports describe dozens of protesters flooding the service, chanting, and refusing to leave, creating fear and chaos. Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was even there, broadcasting live as if this was some legitimate spectacle rather than a disgraceful act of harassment.

Thank God the Department of Justice is stepping in. The Trump administration’s DOJ has launched an investigation, vowing to press charges against those responsible. This is exactly what we need: swift, decisive action to protect Americans’ right to worship without fear. For too long under weak leadership, radicals have gotten away with bullying tactics – blocking streets, harassing citizens, and now invading churches. No more.

These anti-ICE zealots claim moral high ground, alleging the pastor oversees “violent operations.” But enforcing our nation’s immigration laws isn’t violence – it’s duty. It’s protecting American citizens from the chaos of open borders: fentanyl flooding our streets, human trafficking, and strain on our communities. The pastor, if he indeed serves in law enforcement, is a hero – a man of faith serving his country twice over. Yet the left demonizes him, doxxes him, and sends a mob to his church. This is straight out of the authoritarian playbook: silence dissent through fear.

I’ve seen this before. As a retired Air Force colonel who flew combat missions and fought for freedom overseas, I know tyranny when I see it. These tactics mirror the brownshirts of old – disrupting gatherings, shouting down opponents, using intimidation to enforce ideological conformity. The radical left preaches “tolerance” and “inclusion,” but only for views that align with theirs. Step out of line – support border security, traditional values, or Christianity – and they’ll come for you, even in church.

Remember the summer of 2020? Churches burned, statues toppled, cities looted – all while leftist politicians knelt in submission or bailed out rioters. In Minneapolis itself, the epicenter of that anarchy, churches suffered amid the BLM riots. Pastors watched their communities devastated, yet many on the left excused or encouraged the mayhem. Now, years later, the same intolerant spirit returns, this time targeting a church over immigration enforcement.

This incident isn’t isolated. Across America, we’ve seen a surge in hostility toward churches: vandalism, arson, and now direct invasions. Radical activists disrupt services over abortion, Israel, or whatever cause du jour inflames their rage. But make no mistake – the target is Christianity itself. The left views faith as an obstacle to their secular, socialist agenda. They want government as god, with no room for the true God in public life.In Minnesota, this hits close to broader issues. The state has grappled with immigration challenges, including allegations of fraud in social services and strains from unchecked migration. Law enforcement steps up to restore order, and the left responds by attacking churches? It’s cowardly. If they disagree with policy, take it to the ballot box or Congress – not to the pews.

Worshipers at Cities Church showed remarkable grace, praying amid the disruption. But grace doesn’t mean weakness. It’s time for pushback. Church leaders must secure their buildings and stand firm. Congregants should demand protection. Law enforcement – local, state, and federal – must treat these invasions as the crimes they are: trespassing, disorderly conduct, perhaps even violations of federal laws protecting religious exercise.

I call on Minnesota’s leaders, from Governor to local officials, to condemn this unequivocally. No hedging, no “both sides.” This was wrong, full stop. And to my fellow veterans, patriots, and believers: Stand up. Protect your churches. Arm yourselves with truth and, where legal, the means to defend your communities.

The First Amendment guarantees free exercise of religion – not free exercise interrupted by mobs. Our Founders fled religious persecution; they didn’t build a nation for it to return here.

America is the land of the free because it’s the home of the brave. We’ve faced worse threats than these spoiled radicals. We’ll face this too – with faith, resolve, and unyielding defense of our rights.

To the congregants of Cities Church: You are in my prayers. Stay strong. God is on His throne, and justice will prevail.

To the radicals: Your intimidation won’t work. You’ll face accountability – in court and at the polls.

And to all Americans: This is our line in the sand. Defend faith. Defend freedom. Or lose both.

This wasn’t protest. This was intimidation. This was an assault on religious freedom. And it’s the latest salvo in the American left’s war on Christianity, law and order, and the very foundations of our Republic.
