The Hollywood star Kate Hudson took to Instagram over the weekend to pay a touching tribute to her Academy Award-winning mother Goldie Hawn on her 75th birthday.

“Tomorrow is a special day for it marks the day my mama was born. @goldiehawn Goddess, light worker, fire bender, scorpion tailed whirlwind, butterfly mother, love expander, shining star, HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow,” Hudson captioned a black and white photo of her mom. “I’m shooting nights so want to get my post in tonight cause I will be cross eyed in the morning. “I love mama G to the moon and back because of how much fun she is to be around. Always fun fun fun fun fun fun fun and lots of joy,” wrote comedian Chelsea Handler, with the singer and songwriter Rita Wilson adding, “Happy Birthday, Goldie!!! Scorpio sister.”

“Mama Goldie! Thank you for being born and creating the most beautiful, warm and loving family,” commented celebrity nail artist Ashlie Johnson. “I’m so blessed to know you guys.”

This comes after Hawn and her boyfriend of 37 years, actor Kurt Russell, opened up about their relationship in a candid interview.

“Matter of fact, when I met Goldie, I was at a time in my life, and a period in my life, when I was going to put my worst foot forward when it came to any kind of a relationship with the possibility of a relationship,” said Russell, 69. “I put my worst foot forward. If you can handle that, then maybe there’s a chance of some reality there of being together.”

Despite this, the two of them fell in love, and they’ve been together ever since. However, that doesn’t mean that they haven’t faced struggles at times.

“You can actually survive a relationship in a way that when you get older you go, ‘[Sigh] I’m so glad I got through whatever period that was.’ Relationships go through periods, sometimes really hard times,” explained Hawn. “But there’s nothing sweeter than having a family, and that is worth everything.”
