Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany spoke out on Tuesday to torch Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her latest anti-police rhetoric, saying that Democrats being against law enforcement will backfire on them in 2022.

While appearing on Fox News, McEnany cited a moderate Virginia Democrat who called the 2020 House results a failure for the party and blamed it on her colleagues’ far-left rhetoric.

“How much of a dense ideologue can you be? You know, she’s attacking her police officers in her city and endangering her city in doing so, but not only that damaging her party, politically speaking,” McEnany said. “If you’ll remember after the presidential election, a little bit of a shellacking in the House level of things. It was not by any stretch a good congressional election for the Democrats. So there was this conference call that Nancy Pelosi had and a more moderate Democrat, who won narrowly a red seat in Virginia, Abigail Spanberger said, guys, let’s stop saying defund the police. ”

“This was a Democrat saying this to her party. But what did Nancy Pelosi do?” she added. “She pushed back on the moderate Democrat. She is the enabler of this dense ideologue, Ilhan Omar, Pelosi is. She’s propping up these voices in her party. And I can tell you the crazies, Ilhan Omar, AOC, Rashida Tlaib, these anti-police individuals, they are going to be the face of the midterms in 2022, and I guarantee you that moderate Democrat, her prediction is going to come true. It’s going to be a shellacking for the Democrats because of language like you just heard.”

This came after Omar blamed the “dysfunctional” police for the crime spike in Minneapolis.

“What we must also recognize is that the reduction in policing currently in our city and the lawlessness that is happening is due to two things,” Omar said at a Town Hall over the weekend. She claimed that one of these things is that “the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve.”

“The Minneapolis Police Department is the most dysfunctional in our state and probably in the country,” Omar said, going on to slam the department for a lack of accountability, saying that it is something that “doesn’t exist in this moment.”

“And I do believe that the current charter that we have does tie the hands of those who want want to have that accountability,” Omar continued. “We are mandated to have a specific amount of policing. We are mandated to have this kind of union contract, that you have right now. I don’t know any other big city in the state of Minnesota that has the charter that we have.”

It will certainly be interesting to see if Democrats continue to bash the police in this way, should it backfire on them in 2022 like McEnany predicts it will.
