On November 11th, CBS News – through their official CBS Mornings Twitter account – wrote that Kyle Rittenhouse “murdered two men” during the incident in Kenosha in August of 2020, despite him not having been convicted of such offense at the time.

While CBS News deleted the Twitter post shortly thereafter, the assertion before conviction reiterates the biased coverage of both Rittenhouse and his trial that media outlets like CBS have engaged in over the past year.

To further demonstrate the sort of slanted news coverage perpetuated by outlets like CBS News, the outlet also called the August 2020 riot a “Black Lives Matter protest” in the now-deleted tweet.

“Kyle Rittenhouse testified in his murder trial yesterday, breaking down in tears as he told the jury he murdered two men at a Black Lives Matter protest last year in self defense,” the tweet said.

Not only did CBS News effectively convict Rittenhouse as a murderer despite the trial still being ongoing, but the outlet also spread outright lies about his delivered testimony,  as at no point during his testimony did Rittenhouse ever admit to “murdering” anyone.

In every instance of him referencing the series of incidents that occurred on August 25th, 2020, Rittenhouse maintained he reacted to prevent him from being seriously harmed or killed when discharging his firearm – a.k.a., self-defense.

Murder is obviously something completely different than self-defense, as self-defense relates to one’s reaction to prevent serious harm or death to themselves and murder is when someone engages in an unlawful, pre-meditated killing of another person.

But the slandering of Rittenhouse goes far beyond just the media, as the sitting president of the United States, Joe Biden, essentially maligned Rittenhouse as being a white supremacist – without any evidence – as we previously reported here at Red Voice Media.

David Hancock, a spokesperson for the defendant, told Fox News that he found President Biden’s characterization of Rittenhouse “appalling.”

“Don’t forget the candidate for the U.S. president himself last year prior to the election called Kyle Rittenhouse a White supremacist,” he said. “Joe Biden called him a White supremacist; that is appalling. I can’t even gauge how wrong that is.”
