An upcoming biography of the First Lady Jill Biden may dive into claims that she cheated on her first husband Bill Stevenson with her current husband, President Joe Biden, as the book has promised to “reveal the private sides” of her.
Daily Mail reported that the new book “Jill: A Biography of the First Lady,” which is set to be released in April, will take a look at the First Lady’s early life, which includes her marriage to Stevenson. The biography has been “deeply reported” by two veteran White House journalists, Julie Pace and Darlene Superville, who each work for the Associated Press.
A spokesperson for the publisher Little Brown confirmed that Jill’s “early life is covered” in the book, and that the First Lady “participated in interviews” for it.
“In this deeply reported biography, Julie Pace and Darlene Superville reveal some of the private sides of Jill Biden,” the spokesperson said. “We come to see her particular blend of grit and hope, which holds the Biden family together through tragedy and good fortune alike.”
Stevenson has long claimed that the Bidens are lying about how their relationship started. While Jill and Joe have long claimed that they met on a blind date, Stevenson alleges that they actually met while he was still married to the current First Lady. He claims that he and Jill worked on Joe’s first senatorial campaign in Delaware in 1972, when the future president was still married to his first wife Nalia.
“I know exactly when it was. Bruce Springsteen was going to play at The Stone Balloon and I had to go to Northern New Jersey to pay him in advance,” Stevenson said in 2020. “I asked Jill to go with me and she said no — she had things to do, she had to look after Joe’s kids, Beau and Hunter. It was kind of a big deal to go meet Springsteen. I had no idea she and Joe were that kind of friendly. Then one of her best friends told me she thought Joe and Jill were getting a little too close. I was surprised that she came to me.”
Stevenson claims that he asked Jill to move out after discovering the affair.
“Her father was begging me to take her back when he found out what was going on. He asked me to give her a second chance, but I wasn’t interested,” he recalled. “I considered Joe a friend. I’m not surprised he fell in love with Jill. Everyone who meets Jill falls in love with her immediately. It’s hard not to.”
Nalia was killed in a car crash in December of 1972 along with her and Joe’s one year-old daughter Naomi. The Bidens claim that Joe met Jill on a blind date in 1975, after her marriage to Stevenson came to an end.
It would certainly be humiliating for Jill of the reporters researching her upcoming biography were able to find evidence that she has been lying, and that Stevenson’s version of events is correct.
