The First Lady Jill Biden is being blasted this week by Erika Donalds, wife of Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), for COVID-19 policies for unvaccinated attendees at a reception she will be hosting at the White House for congressional spouses.
Donalds took to Twitter to post a screenshot of an email that the White House sent her, which read, “Guests who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask at all times, including abstaining from eating and drinking, and maintain at least 6 feet distance from others while on the White House grounds.”
“First Lady Jill Biden was kind enough to invite me & the other Congressional spouses to a reception at the White House,” Donalds captioned the screenshot. “I just have to take a COVID test, & as an unvaccinated person (with natural immunity) I won’t be allowed to eat, drink, or talk to anyone. Should be a blast!

Donalds later told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that she does not believe that this restriction was based on science, and that it is not “very inviting, to say the least” to the unvaccinated.
“I definitely don’t believe there is a medical justification for this, … which is why I posted it on Twitter and let everyone know how ridiculous this mandate was,” she said.
Donalds went on to say that she ultimately decided to move forward with attending the reception because she had already made her travel plans to go to Washington D.C. by the time she saw the guidance.
“I definitely had to take a second thought of whether I want[ed] to attend and exert my freedom to live as a free person and exercise my rights to eat and drink at a reception like everyone else, despite not being vaccinated,” she said.
“Well, they can say whatever they want,” she continued. “I’m a free person and I’ve been operating in the free State of Florida and [living] a normal life … I do believe in natural immunity … I really don’t care what Jen Psaki says about my lifestyle and the way that I live as a healthy, unvaccinated person.”
Thanks First Lady Jill Biden, but a reception where I'm asked to refrain from eating and drinking and stay in a 6 foot bubble does not sound like a good time. The White House needs to drop these ridiculous mandates and just let people be free. pic.twitter.com/El1XuEWjds

Donalds also could not help but wonder how Biden plans to enforce this rule.
“Are they going to give us a scarlet letter, some kind of a gold star to let everybody know not to speak to us and for the servers not to serve us?” Donalds pondered. “I just can’t imagine how they’re going to enforce such an absurd rule.”
In the end, Carlson had a suggestion for how Donalds should conduct herself at this event.
“Maybe you show up, as is your right as an American,” he said. “They don’t own the White House, by the way. They don’t get to make the rules. And just attack the hors d’oeuvre table, and have like eleven glasses of champagne, throw your arm around Dr. Jill and breathe on her.”
We would pay money to see how the First Lady would react to that!
