Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, spoke out this week to slam Joe Biden for his continued mask mandates, which she said are based on “optics” rather than science.

“It’s honestly unbelievable as well, two topics that I just can’t even wrap my head around,” Trump told Fox News. “You know, the science hasn’t been followed, Todd, for a long time by the Biden administration. We know that. I got to agree with Senator Cruz there. Yes, you had Congress conveniently lifting the mask mandate just in time for the State of the Union address so they can all sit comfortably, but the rest of us are forced when we get on an airplane. How can you even walk into an airport to wear a mask?”

“It is unbelievable that we are still doing this and we know the science,” she added. “We know that unless it’s an N95 mask, it’s basically providing no protection. It is just optics. It’s just for show. I guess Joe Biden and his administration cannot relinquish control. They want to keep people in some sort of a lockdown state with the masks on. I got to tell you, I can’t wait for the first flight whenever we can take those masks off, I’m sure we’re going to hear applause from everybody. It’s time to let us choose. The masks need to go.”

Last week, Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine happened because America now has a “weak” person in the White House.

“Lara, you look at Crimea, that happened under Obama and Biden,” Hannity said, according to Newsweek. “You look at the rise of the Caliphate and ISIS that happened under Obama and Biden. We didn’t have any Putin territorial ambition play out on the world stage when your father-in-law was president.”

“Isn’t it a shame that nobody took note that Joe Biden wasn’t paying attention to any of that?” Lara Trump replied. “Obviously Donald Trump, he is a guy that nobody wanted to mess with. He exuded strength and you have a very different situation on your hands right now.”

“We didn’t have this sort of thing happening under Donald Trump,” she continued. “That is what happens when you put a weak and inept person in the office of president of the United States. [A person] who makes decisions based on emotion and not facts, you get this sort of situation.”

One can’t help but think that if Trump was still in office, none of this would have happened. What a shame.
