Does anyone see the problem with using Chinese drones to enforce social distancing and check on people’s health here in the United States?
Well its not a concern in Michigan. At least two police agencies have readily agreed to use the new power and technology to crack down on those violating the 6-foot personal space halo in public. The Battle Creek Police Department and the Kent County Sheriff’s Department are both using the drones. The company behind the flying spies is DJI Enterprise, a Chinese manufacturer.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Department however dismisses the idea that the drones would ever be misused, “As far as patrolling the streets that is not what these are for”, said Lt. Joel Roon.
