Across the United States, cancer rates have been climbing, and more and more families are facing diagnoses that seem to come out of nowhere. It’s become one of the most pressing health challenges of our time. But every so often, a story emerges that forces us to rethink what we believe about this disease — how it behaves, how it hides, and how one man managed to survive when the odds were stacked against him. Today, we’re joined by someone truly extraordinary. Rick Hill is a 51 year cancer survivor, and his case remains one of the most remarkable long term remission stories ever documented. In 1974, at the Mayo Clinic, Rick was diagnosed with Stage 3 Embryonal Cell Carcinoma and given very little chance of survival. Instead of accepting the narrow options in front of him, he made a bold decision. He traveled to the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico, led at the time by the pioneering Dr. Ernesto Contreras Sr., where he followed an integrative program centered on Laetrile, detoxification, nutritional therapy, and pancreatic enzymes. Against every expectation, Rick overcame his cancer without chemotherapy or radiation, and more than five decades later, he is still cancer free. Today, he’s here to talk about something most people have never heard: how cancer cells can literally hide from your immune system — and what it takes to unmask them.
