Joe Biden promised the nation that his Cabinet will reflect diversity, especially with promises to choose African-Americans and Latinos.
But that isn’t stopping progressive Democrats from voicing concerns. Take for instance Briahna Gray, a former spokesperson for Sen. Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign. She says, “Several of these individuals have real problems, and none of them truly represent a progressive in the mindset of most Americans, especially those who identified with Bernie Sanders.”
Identity politics is a hallmark of the Democratic platform, but picking diverse picks to simply appease the base looks to be an uphill battle for Biden.
