Fox News host Trey Gowdy lashed out at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on his show on Sunday night, calling her out for her “mindless hypocrisy” after she she blamed police for the recent rise in crime in her district, accusing the city’s “dysfunctional” police department for not keeping the oath of office.

During a Town Hall last week, Omar blamed the increasing “lawlessness” in Minneapolis on the fact that “the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve.”

Gowdy, however, was not having any of it. He had a thing or two to say about Omar’s “mindless hypocrisy” based on the “utter illogic” with which she structures her arguments.

“The police are apparently to blame for the murder, rape and carjacking,” said an outraged Gowdy. “Don’t blame the perpetrator, don’t blame the person actually committing the crime, blame the police.”

“In her world, there is no personal responsibility,” he continued. “Nothing is ever anyone’s fault unless you are rich or a cop, or Jewish. Those are the real bad guys. In South Carolina, the people who repeatedly start fires, are called arsonists. In Minnesota, they are called members of Congress.”

Not stopping there, Gowdy blasted the mainstream media for allowing Omar to spew this nonsense unchallenged as she tries to put the responsibility of crime on the very “people who risk their lives to prevent and solve them.”

“The media just ignores the duplicity. When Republicans say stupid things, the media is quick to report on that – and we should all be quick to condemn irresponsible and inaccurate remarks regardless of who makes them,” Gowdy stated. “But you will not see media hold her to account because they never do.”

Gowdy then called out the fact that the homicide rate has increased by 17% in the last year in her district, setting records for murders.

“Freedom is great, but only works if there’s a corresponding responsibility,” he said. “The two cannot be separated.”

This comes after Gowdy’s colleague Greg Gutfeld also lashed out at Omar for attacking police.

“She called the police dysfunctional, but as far as I can tell, none of them married their brother,” Gutfeld said. “She’s exactly the kind of leftist that you would design in a lab to subvert the American system. And the Democrats look like they’re helpless bystanders shouting, ‘You go, girl!’”

Ouch, that one has got to sting!
