The former President Donald Trump reemerged on Wednesday to torch Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) after the Senate majority leader criticized the Republican National Committee’s censure of Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL).

“Mitch McConnell does not speak for the Republican Party, and does not represent the views of the vast majority of its voters,” Trump said, according to Yahoo News. “He did nothing to fight for his constituents and stop the most fraudulent election in American history.”

“And he does nothing to stop the lawless Biden Administration, the invasion of our Borders, rising Inflation, Unconstitutional mandates, the persecution of political opponents, fact finding on the incompentent [sic] Afghanistan withdrawal, the giving away our energy independence, etc., which is all because of the fraudulent election. Instead, he bails out the Radical Left and the RINOs,” he continued.

“If Mitch would have fought for the election, like the Democrats would have if in the same position, we would not be discussing any of the above today, and our Country would be STRONG and PROUD instead of weak and embarrassed,” Trump added.

This came after McConnell criticized the RNC for censuring Cheney and Kinzinger for being on the House select committee that is investigating the Capitol riot that took place on January 6 of last year.

“We saw it happen,” McConnell said of the riot. “It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election, from one administration to the next. That’s what it was.”

The RNC voted last Friday to censure Cheney and Kinzinger, saying that the two lawmakers “are participating in a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.”

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel published a Town Hall op-ed earlier this week in which she said that she has “repeatedly condemned the violence that occurred at the Capitol on January 6th,” blaming the media for misconstruing what was said in the censure of Cheney and Kinzinger.

“If corporate news media wants to know why Americans don’t trust it anymore, they should look no further than the shameful, outrageous, and patently false coverage of the resolution adopted by the RNC to censure Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger,” she wrote.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) responded to this by claiming that the GOP has been “hijacked” by loyalists to Trump.

“Take back your party from this cult,” Pelosi said. “America needs a strong Republican Party.”

Trump has yet to reveal whether or not he plans to run for president again in 2024. It is believed that he will announce his decision after the midterm elections later this year.
