Former President Donald Trump dropped a bomb about 2024 in a new interview on Thursday, when he admitted that there’s one thing that could stop him from running for president again in two years: his health.

Daily Mail reported that Trump confessed that he has told his advisors that his health could be one thing that stops him from running.

“You always have to talk about health. You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again,” Trump told the Washington Post. “That’s not good when they use the word ‘again.'”

However, Trump went on to imply that he may be planning to run, although he has no plans to reveal his decision to the world at the moment.

“I don’t want to comment on running, but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy by my decision,” Trump said. “Because it’s a little boring now.”

In this same interview, Trump expressed his belief that other potential Republican candidates like his former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would step aside if he decides to run.

“If I ran, I can’t imagine they’d want to run. Some out of loyalty would have had a hard time running,” he said. “I think that most of those people, and almost every name you mentioned, is there because of me. In some cases, because I backed them and endorsed them. You know Ron was at 3 percent, and the day I endorsed him, he won the race.”

“As soon as I endorsed him, the race was over,” Trump later added of DeSantis.

Trump also shot down claims that he used a “burner” phone during the Capitol riot on January 6 of last year.

“From the standpoint of telephone calls, I don’t remember getting very many,” Trump said. “Why would I care about who called me? If congressmen were calling me, what difference did it make? There was nothing secretive about it. There was no secret.”

Trump currently leads his potential rivals for the Republican presidential nomination by sizable majorities in most polls. He has previously said that he will not be revealing his decision on whether or not to run in 2024 until after the midterm elections later this year.

Given how unpopular President Joe Biden is at the moment, it will be interesting to see if Democrats decide to run someone else in his place in 2024. Whoever is on the Democrat ticket will certainly have their work cut out for them if Trump decides to run.
