House Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to make public of the Capitol police video tapes is a good start toward the transparency we the people must demand, but it is only that, a start, nearly three years after the event.

We must also engage in open and honest conversations about the challenges facing our nation, and how we can re-establish our institutions to protect liberty instead of destroying it. Only through open dialogue and a commitment to the truth can we hope to heal the divisions that threaten our Republic.

The January 6 narrative is not merely a historical debate; it is a struggle for the very soul of America. We must not allow those in power to distort the truth and undermine our freedoms. It is our responsibility to stand up for what is right, to defend the Constitution, and to preserve the American Republic for future generations.
