In what is the worst case of optics for some time, geniuses in the Biden administration had decided to make the Covid-19 vaccine available to Gitmo inmates while most Americans still haven’t received it.

That’s right, individuals like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who masterminded the 9-11 attacks, had a priority over average Americans when it comes to the vaccine. Let that sink in. That’s who runs Washington now. That’s how they think and that’s what they think of people who killed thousands of Americans. The lives of Gitmo prisoners, most of whom outlived their usefulness years ago and thus ought to have been quietly dealt with, are more important to the Biden administration than American lives. Yes, I’m being redundant because it bears belaboring the point.

However, somebody with a working frontal lobe, rare in the Biden administration, saw the public relations train wreck that was about to ensue and pulled the emergency stop lever. But before that halt happened the move had to be approved by many in the Biden ziggurat. None of them had a problem with it. See redundancies above.

FNC: “The Pentagon on Saturday announced that it was ‘pausing’ a plan to give COVID-19 vaccinations at Guantanamo Bay — after accusations from Republicans and 9/11 survivors that it was prioritizing terror suspects over Americans.

‘No Guantanamo detainees have been vaccinated,’ Defense Department Press Secretary John Kirby tweeted. ‘We’re pausing the plan to move forward, as we review force protection protocols.  We remain committed to our obligations to keep our troops safe.’ ”

Do you believe Dr. Fauci when he says another COVID surge is on the way?

Republicans, smelling the blood in the water, pounced and were able to score points while, paraphrasing Kissinger, having the added benefit of doing the right thing.

“It is inexcusable and un-American that President Biden is choosing to prioritize vaccinations for convicted terrorists in Gitmo over vulnerable American seniors or veterans,” Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, said Saturday.

“President Biden told us he would have a plan to defeat the virus on day 1,” said House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy of California. “He just never told us that it would be to give the vaccine to terrorists before most Americans.”

“You can’t make this up. The ridiculousness of what we get from our government. They will run the vaccine down to those lowlifes at Guantanamo Bay before every resident of the United States of America gets it is the theater of the absurd,” said Tom Von Essen, who was the NYC fire commissioner during 9/11. No doubt the families of the 343 NYFD heroes who died on 9-11 also loved this Biden administration elective health program.

“Nothing says #unity like letting the 9/11 mastermind & Gitmo detainees skip in front of millions of Americans for the COVID #vaccine,” said Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C.

A Ted Cruz spox nailed it. “Joe Biden: making sure terrorists get vaccinated since 2021,” said Steve Guest, communications adviser for Cruz.
